Daughters of the American Revolution, founded in 1890
and headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a volunteer

Membership in the Society provides many opportunities to
cherish our American heritage, to preserve family and
local histories, to promote the celebration of our
national holidays, to support our national defense, and
to form friendships with others who share our love of
God, Home, and Country.
Objectives of the Society:
Historic Preservation -- to perpetuate the memory and
spirit of the men and women who achieved American

Promotion of Education -- to carry out the injunction of
Washington in his farewell address to the American
people, "to promote, as an objective of primary
importance, institutions for the general diffusion of
knowledge, thus developing an enlightened public
opinion."
Patriotic Endeavor -- to cherish, maintain, and extend
the institutions of American freedom, to foster true
patriotism and love of country, and to aid in securing
for mankind all the blessings of liberty.
